Energy and Utilities – UNIT CERTIFICATE

Understanding utility services and energy efficiency in the workplace - City&Guilds/ILM Unit Certificate .


The course covers the following topics:

Understand own organisation’s utility services requirements

Identify what utility services are required by own organisation and examine what are actually provided
Explain the options of acquiring utility services to bridge the gap between own organisation’s requirements and actual provision

Understand the efficiency of own organisation’s energy consumption:

Explain the importance of energy management for own organisation
Examine how own organisation measures energy requirements and actual consumption to determine efficiency
Identify ways of improving own organisation’s energy efficiency



The course is run either in the evenings or daytime.

Participants spend 3 evenings in class and back this up with experience outside the classroom.

The course can also be taken in the daytime (as agreed).


The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM ) operates an ‘Open Entry’ policy but prospective participants should be able to apply what they learn on the course in an organisational setting (need not be in a job).


Participants receive the Griffin College Certificate in Managing Energy and Utilities

Participants have the option to receive the City&Guilds/ILM Unit Certificate in how to 'Understanding utility services and energy efficiency in the workplace' on completion of a written assignment and payment of the City&Guilds/ILM student registration and certification fees.
