Content:

The course covers the following topics:

Principles and legislation:

Explain the key concepts and principles of space planning and management
State the relevant legislation that impacts on space management activities in own organisation

Understanding how to plan accommodation changes:

Describe the planning and implementation of a space management project
Effectively interpret a space layout drawing
List examples of changes to labels and mark-ups that have to be updated on drawings and documents upon completion of a space management project in the context of own organisation

Understand optimisation of space utilisation:

List examples of ways that space is used in own organisation and explain how it could be better utilised
Describe how to encourage responsible space occupancy

Duration: 

The course is run either in the evenings or daytime.

Participants spend 2 evenings in the public class and back this up with experience outside the classroom.

The course can also be taken privately over a single day and we agree the date to suit your diary.

Entry: 

The College operates an ‘Open Entry’ policy but prospective participants should be able to apply what they learn on the course in an organisational setting (need not be in a job).

Certification: 

Participants receive the Griffin College Unit Certificate in Space Management

Participants have the option to receive the Space Management– ABSD Awards – Level 4 (UK) / Level 6 (IRL) Unit Certificate on completion of a written assignment and payment of the ABSD Awards student registration and certification fees.

ABSD AWARDS – Awarding Body for Sustainable Development – is based in the UK and recognised internationally.

Griffin College is a Recognised ABSD Awards centre.
